100th Day of School

Last night Michelle concentrated very hard as she counted out 100 Cheez-Its to bring for her 100th day celebration.

We also made a special shirt for the day!

What better way to prepare for the day than a few Kung Fu moves at the bus stop.

Today was Michelle and Charlie's joint birthday party at Bonkerz. They had so much fun celebrating with friends and family.

These pictures are by far my favorite of the day, this sea lion was playing with one of the trainers who had a tennis ball on the outside of the glass. When she saw Grace's antenna headband she went nuts and followed her all over, it was awesome!!

Not sure if we were supposed to climb the coral but I had to take his picture since he did, :-)

The dogs love the snow too, especially Zoe and Koz. Max will tolerate it if I am outside but as soon as I come in so does he. Although Michelle's face in the first picture looks concerning the second shows she obviously loves playing with Zoe in the snow!

Skating with BHS Girls Hockey

Michelle and Molly had a wonderful time last night skating with the BHS Girls Hockey team, well really just each other and other friends on the ice. Michelle was flying. At first she was trying to keep up with Molly then she realized how fast she could go and would just race all around, falling but geting right back up to see how fast she could go again.

This picture makes me laugh because you can tell Molly is on a mission to get to the ice and Michelle is walking fast to keep up while talking.

We can't believe 6 years have gone by since we were blessed with a healthy baby girl!! Michelle is such an animated child, in all extremes, :-). We love you Michelle Lane!!This year we stole the idea of birthday balloons in Michelle's room on the morning of her birthday, they were definitely a bit hit.

Last day at the Beach Club

We started with a character breakfast, I love all Disney breakfasts!!

We were so excited to explore the pool area of the Beach Club on our last day. Both kids LOVED the water slide, I think it was actually good we didn't discover it earlier in the week or we would not have gotten them away from it!

Hollywood Studies

Moments into arriving at Hollywood Studios the kids asked Grampy if they could get their faces painted....

Then we were able to see the character we had been waiting for our entire trip, Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates!!! Just ask the kids about their trip to Disney, they are sure to mention Jake. Jake wanted his face painted like Charlie.

Toy Story ride, thank goodness for the fast pass on this one, the line was almost 2 hours long!

We were all exhausted by this point but I do think it was the kids favorite park all because of Jake.

Christmas Eve/Day!!!

So much to post about still between finishing Disney and the kids highlight meeting "Jake" but I have Christmas on the mind so we will start here. The Fredo Christmas eve tradition continued with lots of fun for all.

Epcot

Epcot was an especially memorable day as we got to meet Michaela at a princess luncheon! First we had breakfast at the adjoining Yacht Club restaurant where the Christmas decorations were beautiful (our hotel was fabulous too but we really loved the look of the Yacht Club).

Then we headed to the boat to Epcot, which is funny because the walk to Epcot was so short, but hey we didn't know!

Charlie practiced a few Power Ranger moves along the way!

Duffy and Mickey, :-).I will say they were the hit of the entire vacation and came with us everywhere they were allowed.

Then it was time for lunch with Michaela and the princesses!!!

Charlie was not sure about the other princesses but he did become smitten with Snow White.

It makes me laugh seeing Michelle do a model wave in all of the parades!

I truly underestimated the power of Duffy coloring stations, the kids loved it.

Turns out the day was exhausting for everyone.

Magic Kingdom!!

Thankfully all of my prayers to St. Anthony were answered and I found my memory stick in the trash!!!!! One of the first things we saw when walking into the Magic Kingdom was the evil step-sisters. While Michelle wanted to wait in line to see them Charlie opted for the stroller.

After a few rides we had our first Mickey ice creams.

The kids were both excited to drive on the speedway.

Then it was time to go to lunch at the Crystal Palace, these are two of my favorite photos before we went in.

Seeing the characters was still as exciting as it was in 2009.

The parade was a bit hit especially for Charlie who walked around holding Pooh's hand!

After lunch we were up for more fun when it started to pour. It turns out Charlie had the best seat in the Magic Kingdom for the rain, he got a nap in and stayed dry!

When he woke he was not a fan of the rain and wanted Mimi and Grampy to take him back to the hotel which they did. This gave Michelle a chance to go on Space Mountain which she LOVED!!!! Smiles before and after.

What a great day. EPCOT here we come.....

Downtown Disney

After a nap on the way to Disney,

we headed to Downtown Disney. Once there we immediately stopped to make tee shirts, unfortunately my instant gratification son had to wait an hour to pick it up which he was not happy about! In an attempt to curb his tantrum we found the merry-go-round and the tea cup, phew!

The kids were able to make their own pizzas, which was good until Charlie dropped his!!!

I really wish I had waited to do my Christmas cards because I love this photo!!!

Some of our Naples Fun

As always we had a WONDERFUL time in Naples with Mimi and Grampy. Lots of swimming in both the pool and ocean. (The ocean pictures will have to wait since I left my camera at Universal Studios on Wednesday!!!!)Love this picture.

Charlie also remembered that he could jump into the pool (and that he loved it)

Thanksgiving at Mimi and Grampy's golf course was once again great!

Don't know what was so funny but Charlie looks so cute here too.

The best part in the eyes of the kids was playing on the driving range after dinner.

Thanksgiving Feast -- BWB

Today I was able to go into school to help serve the Thanksgiving feast. When the kids came into the cafe it was I who started crying, they just grow up so quick and when they were leaving the cafe Michelle was crying, she didn't want me to go, :-(. It was a fun time though.

Michelle had a parade and party at school today. She was super excited as the pictures show!

Michelle and the BPD

Perhaps it was that she had just gone on her first official field trip with Mike to BPD,

Or it was just her love for dogs, but when Michelle found out a police dog was missing this morning she went into action. First she made a poster (I thought she was just doing a drawing but was so impressed with the words she added too),

She then tried to tape it to the tree in the front yard but quickly realized that was not going to work because of the wind and rain. She decided she would mail her poster to BPD for them to use.

The great news is that within seconds of addressing the envelope Mike called and said the dog had been found. Michelle is convinced her poster did it, :-)

8th Anniversary Celebration

Mike and I were going to take the kids out to dinner tonight to celebrate our anniversary but Auntie Jenn offered to take Charlie for a playdate so we were able to enjoy a nice lunch date. Thanks again Jenn!!

Tonight when I told the kids they wanted me to put on my wedding dress. (I must admit I am so happy I didn't pay the money to have it cleaned and boxed it is much more fun to play with it!!) They wanted to dress up themselves and ran to their rooms to select their attire. Charlie really wanted a tux but I convinced him a tie and button down would be just fine, LOL!

We had a wedding procession and danced it was really fun. The kids thought it was the best thing ever. Truly a wonderful way to end the day.

Pumpkins

Our Columbus weekend was so jam packed I guess I forgot to finish up with the festivities of Sunday and Monday.

Michelle was so anxious to get her pumpkin and carve it after the pumpkin patch on Saturday. (I would like it noted I was willing to purchase but thought carving was a bit too soon)

We bought our pumpkins and had to go right home and carve them. Next year Charlie is going to get Mike to cut his as Mike clearly has the artistic gene that I do not!

Charlie concentrated very hard on cleaning his out while Michelle just had a great time with it.

Bourne Farm 2011

Before Mimi and Grampy set off for Florida tomorrow we spent some time with them at Bourne Farm for our annual pumpkin day visit.

We were there for 30 seconds, literally, before Charlie conned Grampy into buying them an ice cream!!!

We then headed to the slide, clearly Michelle has come a long way from the linked post above!!!

Face painting is always a hit.

We were happy to see the pony rides. Charlie was happy to see the mini pony but he was still a bit apprehensive. Michelle on the otherhand couldn't understand why they didn't adjust the stirrups to her size.

American Girl Store!!

Today Michelle had her very first trip to the American Girl store which did not disappoint!

We arrived a bit early and Michelle's excitement grew and grew as she saw other girls arriving with their dolls. She took a moment to show Lanie the other dolls in the front window.

Lanie really need a new hairdo!

Once inside Michelle literally ran up and down the escalator and all over the store, she was SOOOO excited.

Finally it was time to get Lanie's hair done!

Lanie's hair looked so great but I must say it was back to looking frizzy like Michelle's by the time we got home.

Mimi treated us to a wonderful lunch in the bistro, we were all impressed with the food and Michelle loved dining with Lanie.

As soon as we got home Michelle had to put on her new matching PJs!

Lookout Farm

Today we decided to go apple picking, the kids had an amazing day.

First we road the train to the orchards.

Then we started picking.

We then moved on to the play area and a picnic lunch.

After a rough week we had a GREAT day today!!

First, we were able to walk to the bus stop for the first time, Michelle was super excited!!!

We missed the bus yesterday so we were very early today, perhaps too early as eventually Michelle took a seat!

After putting Michelle on the bus and an errand we came home to regroup before Charlie's turn to start preschool as an afternoon kid. I couldn't find him and after 10 minutes I found him sleeping in his bed! (It was 10:30 a.m.)

His power nap left him extremely excited for school and he had a great day!!

First Day of Kindergarten

This afternoon we were able to go to BWB so Michelle could meet Ms. Anderson. As one can imagine Michelle was thrilled to meet her teacher and classmates and find her hook and table!

After checking things out she went to where she is most comfortable!

Charlie had a great day too. We spent some time this morning at Drummer Boy Park which is always a hit, my little model.

I find myself exhausted this evening on what was to be the first day of school (thanks Irene!), looking at the photos of the day I now know why I am so tired.

First we made some cookies...

We made a sauce with the tomatoes and peppers from our garden, it was a family affair but was way to messy to photograph!

We finished the day in the sprinkler,

and with some relaxing!

We had a great day but perhaps my favorite part was Michelle letting Max and Zoe out when the FedEx man arrived prompting him to almost have a heart attack because he saw the cruiser in the driveway and thought it was Kosmo, LOL!!!

We did get to visit with Tori, Lindsay and Allison although I didn't get pictures of the kids with them :-(.

We tried the beach but we were being pummeled by sand. We weren't sure how the kids would react to leaving after 30 minutes but they were completely fine.

Staying up late is great fun for any 4 and 5 year old but when it is at WLYC it is VERY exciting, especially when it is with all the older kids of the club. I don't know what they found the most fun, getting their own fruit punch from the dispenser or dancing! It didn't take long for the kids to get fruit punch mustaches and it all over themselves.

This weekend we had our maiden trip to Storyland!

Day 2 started out with a walk in the woods before Storyland. We took Max and Keepher to this spot several years ago and it was interesting to see how much the water and banks have changed.

Day 2 at Storyland started out with Charlie having fun..

but quickly turned to this as a temperature hit.

Charlie woke up for ice cream but then resumed sleep.

With Charlie back asleep Michelle and Mike snuck in three more rides before we called it a day!

It was very difficult to get pictures in the water park at the hotel but both kids have picked this as the highlight of their vacation!

Oh and Michelle tried to pack herself in the suitcase for the trip home, :-)

Today was a perfect day to go fishing. Michelle was pretty excited.

Grampa brought the worms and got everyone set up.

Before we knew it Charlie's line was tight and he pulled this bass up!

He was so proud of himself it was really cute!!

In true fisherman form he exaggerated a bit when asked what size his fish was, :-)

We then went for this years first swim in the middle of the lake. It was Charlie's first time and all he kept saying was "I love this, I love this"

First day at the ocean

Well, we finally made it to the ocean yesterday and the kids and I can't wait to go back. In some ways the ocean is much easier than the club because the kids aren't going in a million directions. We had so much fun playing in the waves and thanks to Auntie Kelly Michelle got to go deep, :-)

I don't know why this picture is being rotated but it still makes me laugh. Michelle and Charlie went and saddled up right next to this woman and we have no idea who she is. I went to take a picture of their three backs lined up but the kids had moved. The kids had been talking to the woman for a few moments when her friend came over to help her up. We are still not sure if her friend was rescuing her from my children or if she had fallen and we missed it!! Kelly and I were happy to note that in the years to come this may be us, LOL!!

As we were packing up from the beach today Moezy and Grace called and wanted to know if we wanted to go to the Buttonwood Zoo. Of course we said yes!

We started on the Merry-Go-Round where they kids were excited to ride on different animals.

We saw some animals,

walked hand in hand,

and found ourselves right back at the merry-go-round!

I was exhausted today and looking at my photos I can now see why.

Thursday we went to Heritage Museum and Gardens what a beautiful day and place to explore. Of course the carousel was a huge hit.

My kids cracked me up by essentially joining a school group!!

If you are reading this and are on FB you already know this story but I want to preserve it for years to come. Michelle saw a solider playing with his child and went up to say "thank you for your service". It was so precious!!

After a picnic and some more playing it was time for naps!!!

Saturday was Michelle's first dance recital!!! She did so great and wished she could go on stage more, guess I should have taken her to tryouts for a summer play.

Today was help Nani and Grampa get the boat ready day, the kids sort of helped.

Paws for Celebration

My friend Stacey has been donating a great deal of time to the Animal Rescue League of Boston for a few years now and she was instrumental in putting together a GREAT dog friendly event to raise money for the shelters today. She asked Mike and colleagues to do a K9 demo. There was so much to do the kids had a great time!
Max had to stay home because of his leg but Zoe came and got to play with her boyfriend Mulligan, :-)

I never had a dog growing up but the love between this two is so adorable it brings tears to my eyes thinking about the envitable day in the hopefully very far future!! The craziest thing to me is that when Zoe was in the hospital for a few days at the house Charlie was the one who asked about her all the time. I guess Michelle just didn't want to think about it.

Oh and I had to get their picture with Bachelorette contestant Chris Lambton, ha ha.

When the teachers told me they would be playing games outside all morning I knew that would mean one tired Charlie by pickup time. I was not anticipating having to have another mom stay to bring Michelle in because he would be so tired he was melting down! Thankfully we had to go back and get Michelle so I was able to take some pictures of him with his teachers. (Sorry Ms. Maureen you blinked and you know Charlie doesn't sit for long)

Michelle's Last Day of Preschool -- AKA show day

I can't believe I am going to have a kindergartener in just a few short months!!! It seems like just yesterday was her first preschool graduation. Michelle has grown into quite the little lady. Although she is still working hard on having patience her overwhelming excitement for every little thing can be quite entertaining.

Max and Grace's Birthday

We have had a wonderful weekend. Saturday was boys and girls day, Mike and Charlie hung out at home while Michelle and I headed off Cape to Allison and Nicole's dance recital which was really fun, I forgot my camera though, :-(

Today is Max's 9th birthday, happy birthday "bubs"

While Mike attended Tommy and Lindsays graduation parties, the kids and I were very lucky to attend Grace's pirate birthday party, boy was it ever fun. Lobster Tales did an awesome job, I highly recommend it for spring/summer birthdays. (Unfortunately dont think it would work with my January/February b'days)

Ironically enough last week Michelle came home in a pirates costume, she immediately told me she was going to wear it to Grace's party so I knew we had to get one for Charlie too!

Memorial Day 2011

Yesterday Nani and I took the kids on a mystery ride to Charlie's Cupcakes (although Charlie guessed it with one hint)!!

The cupcakes were great but sharing apple juice was pretty exciting too!

We then proceed to a "Support the Troops" rally. Michelle was adorable searching out every solider she could to say "Thank you for your service", brought tears to my eyes every time.

There were lots of fun things to do, a jumpy house, face painting, riding in go-carts, ect.

We then called Auntie Rhon to go to Chapins for lunch, one of my favorite places! I am pretty sure in a few years I am not going to remember which child this is. I knew my children looked alike but man these pictures seal that!!

This afternoon we crashed Nani and Grampas for some fun in the backyard and I played around with my camera!

The weather has been very crazy this morning, raining, sunny, raining, sunny .....during the sunny patches we ventured outside.

Our handsome limping dog followed us around looking oh so pitiful however he doesn't seem to be in pain so who knows!!

I started this morning with flowers and a cake, of course we had to have the cake for breakfast.

We the proceeded to the Marshside for lunch with great friends which was so wonderful. I often leave restaurant meals feeling frazzled but in honor of Mother's Day all of the kids were wonderful, truly they couldn't have been better behaved.

Lunch was followed by entertainment by Koz,

After a quick nap we went to visit Nani and Nani Doe while Mike finished his nap. We had lobster for dinner!

It has been wonderful to have such nice weather. We dined outside last night...

Charlie had T-ball again this morning, I think we need to work on his fielding skills.....
He can bat though.

We then took Nani Doe for a mystery ride to get some of her favorite jelly donuts, well it was a mystery until about half way to Orleans when Michelle said "Are we almost at the donut store?" These donuts are quite the hit and HUGE.

We ended this beautiful day at Craigville Beach, we will all sleep well that is for sure!!

Michelle has been begging Mike to take her to training for months now. Today he had a demo at the high school for a class of seniors so I took the kids to watch. Unfortunately I was unable to take photos during the demo, mostly because I was afraid the kids would run onto the field to see Mike, but we did have fun playing before the demo started.

Today started with rain but turned out to be a beautiful day, much different than the cold day yesterday.

We bought Charlie a new bat and t-ball stand today so of course the kids have been outside all afternoon playing with it!!

Mystery Ride to Florida!!

On Tuesday we suprised the kids with a trip to Florida. The mystery was up about halfway to Boston when I realized I forgot my license! Fortunately this didn't stop Michelle from getting ready right away.
Charlie took a more reserved approach.

Crazy Weather

"Only in New England" do we get weather that is all over the place. Last week it was really warm....

...this morning it was snowing...

....and by afternoon the snow was gone although intermittent rain (and sunshine) came through. (Notice the ground behind Charlie.)

Kindergarten Kick-Off

Today the town held a carnival for the kids entering Kindergarten in September. We made a special day of it. First we started the day at ballet/tap with Grace.

We stopped on the way out for a few shots, I am not sure who taught Michelle these "poses".

We then met Molly and Auntie Jenn for lunch, someone was excited.....

Once at the event we quickly found many familiar faces including Kyle!

There were so many activities to try out, kindergarten is going to be fun!!

Charlie got to have a special date with Nani and went to a store called "Cupcake Charlie's", what a lucky guy!!

Museum of Science

We decided to go on a mystery ride on Tuesday to the Museum of Science. Tori met us which was really fun.

Michelle even got Tori to go on the seesaw with her!!

We ended the outing at Cheesecake Factory which of course was my favorite part!!

Outdoor time

The weather is slowing improving around here so we are trying to get outside more.
Michelle will swing for hours on the swing set while Charlie runs circles all over the yard.

After so much time outside it is bath time!

Collecting rocks outdoors and painting them has become a favorite past time. These rocks were collected in the dark and had to be painted the moment the kids woke up. (Yes, Charlie will not leave his room unless he is fully dressed in the morning)

As much as I want a new floor, I will miss the ability to put the kids on the floor with paint and not have a worry!!

St. Paddy's Day Parade

We have been attending the St. Paddy's Day Parade in Yarmouth for a few years now and I truly enjoy looking at the kids through the years,2009 (video only) and 2010.

Unfortunately we had to be reminded by the police several times to stay back but the older kids next to us kept blocking our crew from the candy, :-).

I attempted to get a picture of the kids and I but this is what I ended up with!!

Today was Charlie's gymnastics birthday party. He started out waiting for his friends in a nice comfy chair....

...and sharing kisses with me!

Michelle was even more excited than Charlie, or perhaps Charlie just took it all in stride.

This boy sure knows how to make my heart melt, he was blowing me kisses while playing with the parashute.

Unfortunately when it was time for pizza and cake Charlie started crying that his belly hurt. After a few goes of this I thought it best to bring him into the car to avoid having any "incidents". When he didn't fight me leaving at all I knew he wasn't right. He seemed fine in the car and went right to bed when we got home, so I think he was just tired. He may be 4 but he loves to sleep!! At least he got to see his cake before it was eaten up!!

He started the day opening his presents.

As you can see Michelle was almost more excited than Charlie that he recieved a Leapster Explorer from Mimi and Grampy!!

We went to a playground with Nicky-Nick and Kate Rose. Boy was it cold but the fresh are was nice.

Nani and Grampa bought Charlie this clone trooper helmet that he has not taken off since. In fact, it as on his head at 4:30 this morning when I woke up to it talking and had to tell him it was too early.

Phew it was a tough day to turn 4!!

Michelle drew a picture to thank the vets for taking such good care of Zoe so we took a picture to accompany her drawing. While we were taking the picture I turned around to see Max watching on!!

Charlie and I took the opportunity to enjoy the nice weather earlier in the week. It was nice to come back to both dogs waiting patiently for us.

School Work

Michelle has started to go to school on Thursdays. Since it is a smaller group they are able to have the kids tell some stories and document them. Last week most kids had two sentences but as you can see her story of her mouse went on for a bit.
